Alpha Omega Epsilon is a professional and social sorority founded in 1983 that provides friendships, leadership, and professionalism to all members of the organization, the community, and our professions. Originating at Marquette University, twenty-seven girls established the organization in hopes to promote the advancement of women in engineering and technical sciences. Alongside the advancement of women in technical fields of study, the sorority also strives to create a warm and friendly environment where integrity, self-confidence, and character can develop and thrive.

As an organization, ties with Greek and Engineering Organizations are encouraged, leadership at the Chapter and International levels are fostered, and networking opportunities for its members are provided. As a young organization, Alpha Omega Epsilon allows each member to play a significant role in realizing the group's future goals. With already 22 chapters and 2 colonies, the sorority anticipates the growth and furthering of women in engineering and technical sciences.

Here at the University of Delaware the Nu chapter was founded in 2004. The chapter already considers itself involved with many other engineering organizations and looks forward to continuing its role in engineering events such as sponsoring company tours, lectures, and of course, the National Engineers Week. Our chapter was started by sixteen women who believed in the role they and other women could have in engineering. By coming together and taking part in social and professional events, our chapter hopes to make a lasting impact on women's roles in engineering and technical science felt not only by our members but also by our peers.
