Parent Organization: University of Delaware
Arnold Air Society is a national professional, honorary and service organization founded in 1947 at the University of Cincinnati. Since then it has grown to 73 squadrons nationwide that have graduated countless thousands of cadets. It is named after General Henry “Hap” Arnold, the only 5-star general of the Air Force and the only person ever to hold a 5-star rank in multiple branches of the military.
The AAS squadron at UD has been remarkably successful over the years, graduating many of Field Training's Superior Performers and a large majority of the Detachment's Cadet Wing Commanders. We do a considerable amount of community service, including volunteering at the local VFW chapter and an Adopt-a-Highway. In addition to these activities, we do various fun activities such as beach-days and bowling. Each year, we send cadets to national and area conclaves where they vote on AAS policy and network with cadets from other detachments.
Any person who is in the Air Force R.O.T.C. should become a member if they are looking to increase their leadership abilities and developing as a professional and a cadet.
Any person who is not in Air Force R.O.T.C. should consider becoming a member of our service organization, Silver Wings, which will be established Fall 2016.
