Students for Justice in Palestine

Students for Justice in Palestine

About

SJP is a chapter of ‘National Students for Justice in Palestine,” or NSJP comprised of undergraduate students and alumni and is open to new students and faculty. Our purpose is to promote justice, human rights, liberation, decolonization, and self-determination of the Palestinian people who have been living without basic rights under Israeli military occupation since 1948. Our focus is centered on their freedom, justice, and equality. Our mission is also to promote an understanding of the Palestinian struggle on campus by encouraging our peers to express solidarity with those fighting for freedom, justice, and equality in the Palestinian region. SJP stands against all forms of hatred including homophobia, misogyny, racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, classism, colonialism, ableism, bigotry, and discrimination of any form. As students, our priorities are education, awareness, legislation, and critical/analytical discussions of the Occupation of Palestine and the Israeli Apartheid state under the settler-colonial structure of Israel. We aim to promote political development and political awareness about other liberation movements (i.e Black Liberation, Indigenous Liberation, etc.) and the history of our own.
