About

The Review is the independent student newspaper of the University of Delaware. Since 1882, it has served as a voice for UD students and strived to provide timely, accurate and insightful information about the university and the surrounding community. The paper was founded more than a century ago as a monthly publication called the Delaware College Review. Eventually, The Review became a weekly publication, and now it publishes everyday in an online setting. While complication caused by coronavirus has prevented us from printing this semester, we have been fully functional online at udreview.com. You can also learn more about the paper and how to join at udreview.com/join

The Review consists of several major sections:

DEVELOPMENT

All new recruits pass through the Development section. Here, recruits write their first articles under more individualized supervision, and learn their skills before joining the regular staff.

NEWS

The news section covers all campus, local and statewide events in order to keep our readers updated on the university, Newark-at-large and Delaware itself.

ARTS AND CULTURE

The arts and culture section covers timely developments in local music, art and culture and their impact on the community.

MOSAIC

The magazine section of the newspaper, welcoming creative individuals to collaborate with others to produce one-of-a-kind content.

SPORTS

In our sports section, you can expect to cover anything sport-related through event coverage, investigative pieces, features pieces and player highlights.

COPY

The copy section of our paper ensures that our grammar, spelling, AP Style and sourcing are in tip top shape.

VISUALS

Experience what it is like to work as a creative in a fast-paced agency, where you turn the written ideas, concepts and stories of your colleagues into art pieces.

OPINION

The opinion section serves as an opportunity for members of the UD community to speak their mind. We accept submissions from people all over campus on a variety of issues.

The Review was a 2008 Pacemaker Award Finalist, and has been named one of the ten best non-daily college newspapers by the Associated Collegiate Press. The Review’s official office is located on the second floor of Perkins Student Center’s West Annex, above WVUD and Dining Services.
